The gillnet industry has relentlessly worked to undo the bi-state Columbia River gillnet reforms since their adoption in 2012. CCA has worked tirelessly in Oregon and Washington to defend the gillnet reforms and protect our iconic fisheries.
Thousands of YOU emailed, called, or met with your elected officials. Hundreds attended a March 13 rally in Salem urging the Legislature to hold ODFW accountable for the reforms through its budget and proposal to reauthorize the Columbia River Endorsement – the fee paid by anglers to help fund the compromise reforms that the agency was poised to dismantle! The Commission and ODFW relented, but the threat remained.
